BUZZ FILMS WORK
Buzz Films is the second production company I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved with (the first was the one that got me started, Chrome Productions, still going strong I might add), founded with ace documentary filmmaker Jan Bednarz. We’ve recently been joined by Simon Wan, making a three man team united by the idea of shooting high-quality productions, more economically, with better social responsibility and burgeoning green credentials. But it’s not all good will, we’re commercially minded and are actively looking for better ways to fund, distribute and deliver work. The big focus is on developing feature projects, both documentary and drama, but the day to day work involves everything from virals, to extreme sports, to corporate communications, pretty much the standard mix in this day and age.
Our mission is of course to bring our work to the widest possible audience, but were also committed to assisting emerging filmmakers, young, or not, it doesn’t matter, to shoot more often, with more support and more opportunities to learn. With the Film Council falling by the wayside, the kinds of communities now being built around filmmaking are going to be essential in helping a brand new generation of self-empowered, exciting filmmakers to create, be seen, be funded, be successful. If we achieve nothing else, our goal is to entertain. Here is a selection of some of the projects we’ve been involved with over the ten months since we’ve been active.
