Robin is a London-based self-shooting writer/director/producer/editor/vo & motion graphics artist (say it again, but faster, I dare you) with a bunch of other useful strings to his bow. He grew up as a classical musician earning music scholarships, singing in choirs and playing the piano and violin. He started working in radio while at university, editing and presenting sports and news before becoming a mid morning DJ. After a brief stint working in a marketing consultancy he decided to set up his own production company and formed Chrome Productions with two friends in 2002. The newly formed company immediately embarked on producing a feature length extreme sports film which premiered in Leicester Square. Over the next six years the company travelled all over the world producing tv shows, music videos, brand films and commercials and Robin was able to have a go at pretty much everything, from directing, to camerawork, to editing, to motion graphics, screenwriting and voiceover. Memorable highlights from the Chrome years include filming at -20 on top of a mountain in Switzerland, with no gloves; crashing in the jungle in Thailand in a Bentley dressed as a police car; powdering Alan Rickman's nose; spending a day 'hanging' with Hawk and Bam; and making ten models play football in their underwear... in the mud... currently with over a million hits on Youtube. Robin's Current TV pod, on the world record Burj Tower basejump, produced with Jan Bednarz was their highest viewed film of 2008 and won Current's VC 2008 Award for Best Footage. Robin now works as a freelancer, directing, editing and writing. As a director he has made ob doc tv shows and scripted reality as well as gaining awards nominations for promos and chucking out the odd viral as well. He has written several short films, a one hour tv drama series and is currently working on his first feature film 'Hurt'. As an editor he has six years experience cutting everything he has directed as well as a mountain of music videos, commercials, action sports films, tv shows and short films. Click here to see examples. He has also developed a handy line in motion graphics and compositing... which is nice. He's not scared of working his knackers off and will try anything as he's not clever enough to say no. In March 2010 Robin won the Bahamas 14 Islands Film Challenge beating 400 other filmmakers to the prize and spending a couple of weeks in the sun, lovely. Robin is represented by Blueberry Creative Consultants for editing. For a full resumé or writing samples email me here. MUSIC VID REEL. GRAPHICS REEL. CAMERA REEL. |
